We are honored that you are considering St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School for your family. Our admissions process is designed to be welcoming, informative, and supportive as you explore whether St. Mary of Carmel is the right fit for your child.

At St. Mary of Carmel, we believe in nurturing the whole child, academically, spiritually, and socially. Our dedicated faculty and vibrant community work together to provide a strong foundation rooted in Catholic values, ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow and excel.

STEP 1:

Visit St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School

We warmly invite all prospective families to visit SMC. Touring our campus is the best way to experience our vibrant classrooms, meet our dedicated faculty, and discover what makes our academic program, Catholic identity, and community life unique.

STEP 2:

Please gather the following documentation to upload with your application.

For all grades:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records (No Affidavits are accepted.)**
  • Sacraments Certificates - Baptism, First Communion
  • Standardized Test Results (1st - 7th grade)
  • Prior Year Report Card (1st - 7th grade)
  • Current Year-to-Date Report Card (1st - 7th grade)
  • Transfer from Public School - We will need all documentation, including 504, IEP, GT, and LPAC, from the previous public school.

**Immunization Record: (provided by the child's physician) must include the health care provider's signature or stamp, month, date,  and year (must be dated within the last twelve months). SMC follows the Minimum Immunization Requirements from the Texas Department of Health Services and the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops - Education Department.

STEP 3:

Submit an Application

Applications open February 1, 2026, for the 2026–2027 school year.
Families may apply online by completing the admissions application and submitting the required documents.

STEP 4:

Student Assessment and Family Meeting

Applicants may be invited to participate in a student assessment appropriate to their grade level. Parents or guardians will also meet with school leadership to discuss academic readiness, support services, and the partnership between home and school.

STEP 5:

Admissions Decision

After all application materials are carefully reviewed, St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School will communicate admissions decisions to families. Those who are offered acceptance will receive detailed enrollment instructions and information about next steps.

STEP 6:

Enrollment and Welcome

Upon completion of the enrollment process, families become official members of the St. Mary of Carmel community. New families are warmly invited to attend orientation sessions and school events to support a joyful, seamless transition.

New Student Application

To enroll a new student at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School, families must inquire and arrange a tour or family interview (click above). We accept online applications only. The application fee is $25 per student and must be paid electronically at the time of application; we do not accept application fee payments in the office. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable.

Families new to St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School must first submit an online application for admission.St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School gives priority to first-time admissions to children of families with currently enrolled students. If spaces remain after admitting these students, the school will accept other applicants who meet the admission requirements. The application window is now open.
